I remember when I was in high school
( I am glad I finished school because i was not really happy and that is a long story i will mention soon:D )
so..one of my teachers called me once.. البلحة الجميلة hehe..that is so weird and funny..but I like it..but the name did not stick with me..I also did not think back then that I was beautiful

and..one of my Brothers used to call me sometimes "Magy", not the soup magy, magy as in american name or something..because the name was kind of close to mine :S
sometimes mom calls me Marmar..
my university friends..call me,very seldome, Mermaid..
I think in many times..our names reflect who we are or how people see us..
I also beleive that parents have a huge responsibility naming their children cuz I remember I read before a while about a girl called "A7zaan"أحزان and she said their parents called her that because she was the first child and they were expecting a boy @@@@
and The amazing thing was when she was asked whether she wanted to change her name or not, & she said:
" No, Because I want to tell my Story to everyone I meet.."
can you see the frustration..the sadness..?!!!!! everytime someone calls her "a7zaan", don't you think the brain cells might release sad chemicals..and promote sad emotions..?

Iknow I love My name ^_^ el7amde Allah..it reminds me of Beautiful & Romantic Things ..Beautiful Colors and it is kinda rare ..it makes me feel i am confident..& Special Masha Allah :D

Ah, I've always had to go by my 'two' names because of how ppl here and ppl in general pronounce it. I went through phases where I liked one of those names more than the other, and I think somehow I act differently when ppl call me by a certain name.
My uncle used to call me 'Malika' (Queen) ;) My close friends in high school shortened my name to three letters only >.<
I remember how confused ppl were when I first came to uni, cuz I'd tell them my name was something and then they'd hear proffs say something else (only a letter different) but wat made it confusing was that there are ppl named either this or that, lol. I told Boo that i was schizophrenic because of that..haha

Well in my experience, i gotto know that people link your nicknames with some incident or event that they had come across with you. Heres a funny example;
One of my friend calls me LEG :p you might wonder why?Well one day we where goin to have KFC and he got to know that i dont prefer havin the Leg piece (drumsticks) of the chicken.And from that day forth, I am LEG to him....
My cousin calls me Barnie, reason being - once i was goin to open the Barnie Coffee House franchise. And god knows how i ended with that name.....
But i dont mind being called with all the different nick names because i know that these names hold some good memories. And i believe you end up bein closer to the person who gave u that particular nick name.....

a couple of days ago..i was trying to explain the meaning of my name to this Kenian teacher..and she thought that my name means "Cola" lool..

well, its kind of a complex thing to describe .. but i love it and i consider myself a lucky person for that..
Sub7an Allah..Mohammed..although it is a very common name..still I & many people simply Luuuve it..
perhaps sometimes when we hold such beautiful names that we associate great people with(the propher Muhammed sala Allah 3lihe w salam) i guess it gvies us a deep insight to be responsible for our actions..and makes us wanna strive to be the best possible examples..hmm..i just thought of this..its an interesting idea..
